Matcha Gin Sour Cocktail


  • 2 oz matcha simple syrup
  • 5 oz gin
  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 tsp agave syrup
  • 1 tsp superior matcha powder


  1. Prepare the Glass - In a shallow dish, mix 1 tsp agave syrup and 1 tsp matcha powder. Dip the rim of a cocktail glass into the agave-matcha mixture, ensuring the entire edge is coated. Gently shake off any excess and set the glass aside.
  2. Prepare the Cocktail - In a cocktail shaker without ice, combine the matcha simple syrup, gin, lemon juice, and egg white. Dry shake (shake without ice) vigorously for about 20-30 seconds until the mixture is frothy and the egg white is well incorporated.
  3. Wet Shake and Serve - Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker. Wet shake (shake with ice) for another 20-30 seconds until the mixture is chilled. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass, using a fine-mesh strainer if desired to catch any small ice chips or froth.
  4. Final Touch - Sprinkle a pinch of matcha powder on top of the cocktail for garnish.
  5. Serve and enjoy! Serve the Matcha Gin Sour immediately while it’s cold and frothy.
The matcha simple syrup in this cocktail not only adds sweetness but also enhances the vibrant green color and earthy flavor of the matcha. Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less simple syrup. Enjoy responsibly!
