Matcha Dipped Sables
Enjoy your delightful matcha-flavoured and chocolate-dipped valentine’s treats!
Ingredients
- 140g Icing sugar, sieved
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 250g butter (room temperature)
- 375g plain flour
- 3 tsp premium culinary matcha powder
- Dark chocolate for dipping
Method
- In the mixing bowl of your mixer, combine the sieved icing sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk, and soft butter in cubes. Stir together until well combined. If you don’t have a mixer, you can use a bowl and a wooden spoon.
- Sieve the matcha powder over the flour and add it to the mixture. Stir until it forms a firm dough.
- Leave the dough to rest in the fridge for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C
- Roll out the chilled dough between two sheets of baking paper until you reach the thickness of a £1 coin. Use a cookie cutter or the edge of a glass to cut out the cookies.
- Place the cut-out cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking tray. In the meantime, melt dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Once the cookies are completely cooled, dip each one into the melted dark chocolate, covering one side or half of the cookie.
- Place the dipped cookies on parchment paper to allow the chocolate to set.
- Once the chocolate has hardened, your Matcha Sable Dipped in Dark Chocolate is ready to be enjoyed!
